Migration from WordPress to a custom platform for distributing fitness and meditation content
Background
MB Program was born in 2022 in response to the surge in online fitness demand following the covid period. The founder had a clear goal: build a business that did not require her physical presence, a model that would let her work and travel simultaneously while serving a growing client base.
The starting point was a WordPress PoC that, as users and requirements grew, began showing its limits: plugin dependency, limited scalability, no control over the user experience and an architecture not built to evolve.
The project
We guided MB Program through a two-phase evolution. Phase one: new WordPress CMS features, activity calendar, favourites management, add-on packages and UX improvements. Phase two: migration to a custom Laravel platform with MySQL, multilingual eCommerce, subscription and multi-package management, Braintree and Fatture in Cloud integration, asynchronous queues via Amazon SQS, React Native mobile app and smart TV access. The new architecture is independent of external plugins and fully under the team's control.
