NOI Techpark – Open Data Hub

NOI S.p.A. manages the NOI Techpark in Bolzano and the Open Data Hub, a European digital platform designed to support start-ups, companies and research institutions in developing innovative solutions powered by real data. The platform aggregates data from public and private providers on mobility, energy, tourism, air quality and much more, making it freely accessible through a single access point.

As the platform grew and European interoperability standards evolved, NOI needed to expand its data sources, renew the Data Browser interface and make the data catalogue programmatically queryable according to ODPS and DCAT standards.

Over a multi-year collaboration we developed new Java Data Collectors for automatically retrieving statistical data from sustainability applications, particularly on mobility and parking facilities. We redesigned and implemented the Data Browser 2.0, refining component architecture and UX/UI to make dataset exploration more intuitive. Finally, we built the PoC for exposing the data catalogue via ODPS and DCAT endpoints, enabling programmatic integration with national and European open data platforms.
